Women who DO don’t wait for permission!

I speak from experience because if I waited I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’m on a WholelisticFit journey and it’s not easy. Excuses and doubt happen but it shouldn’t become a defining factor.

Can you imagine a life without pain, sickness or disease?

What would it take to make that happen?

Stop trying to heal the world. Start healing yourself and the world will take notice. Start with YOU. Because if you’re like me, we’ve seen the headlines and feel the hurt. Our first reaction is sorrow and maybe hopelessness. Sometimes we stop moving all together because we’re chained by sadness. But that’s when you use your WHY to refocus and stay in motion.

Energize your fit schedule with an emotional connection to wellness. Develop a deep and rooted WHY into every squat, plank and burpee.

Make the extra effort, do what the average person wouldn’t. Stay consistent, persevere and believe in the process.

Speaking of process, I was talking to my sister, Make Mahalo, about our goals. She used the term, “the G-d process!” Which I understand as going through challenges KNOWING that there’s a lesson in the midst. The willingness to have faith and keep moving forward.

Will the life lessons ever stop? Probably not. The G-d process seems to be ingrained into the universe.

Keep moving forward!

So I’m doing another fitness concert, and it’s been awhile. The last one was in the Spring and it feels like decades. I can’t wait to sweat along side of some fabulous women and a few good men. The best part is blasting the music 🎶 and moving to the rhythm.

Also if you’re interested my blog WholelisticFit.com has a new article called, “WHY & WILLpower, which do you need first?” It list the 5-Steps-To-A-Strong-Why and includes some pinable quotes. Keep in mind that you have to be a MERMAID to read it, and membership is free. I’m closing with a few vision boards I created and posted on Instagram! PEACE Be the Journey, Ho’omālamalama

August’s Fitness Challenge

The inspiration behind this challenge came from an info-graphic on my Pinterest board. I tried to find where it originated to give them credit. But every time I found that image and clicked, it lead me to a different blog or website. It was so confusing.

Nevertheless I chose to name my version ✨”ABracadabra” because it sounded cooler than ab-challenge. Imagine melting away flabbiness and embracing a toned tummy. 🙌🏽 I’m down with that.

So my workout crew is waking up at 5:30am to join me on Facebook Livestream to do this together. We just completed ✅ last months 5min Plank challenge below. 👇🏽

So we’re at it again.

I normally don’t post back to back so if you’re reading this and wanted to read my other post: The Fit Side of HULA -or- HULA FITNESS click here. Or the image below.

PS: If you’re wondering here’s this month’s Zumba with Ho’o fitness schedule. 😉 If you were wondering. 💋

July’s Fitness Goals

I'm challenging all MANA WAHINE to plank, yes I said PLANK, during the month of July.

[Why?] There are so many benefits when holding a properly aligned plank. Muscle's, cells, hair follicle are all participating. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating by a hair. Lol, sorry about the weak pun.

[Can beginners participate?] Anyone who wants to, and has medical approval, can participate. Below is the info-pic I created as a guide. Pin-it and use it daily. I hope you have fun with this challenge and join me. Comment below if you are.

I'll be on Facebook Livestreaming daily with my MANA WAHINE. We checkin at 5:30am daily to follow the chart above. Talk about dedication!  We're starting off will smaller increments that will increase daily.

I also have a new workout schedule for July. It's going to be a fun month. So have a safe 4th and stay hydrated. PEACE Be the Journey.

I like to swap off fitness styles to give my MANA WAHINE a full body workout. Which is your favorite?

MANA Wahine Fitness

image

MANA: true mana (strength) never passes away it is handed down from one generation to the next.

WAHINE: carrier of life, woman. She who embodies the moon through its seasons.

My Hawaiian-ness allows me to see everything through cultural filters. As I stand in the 40th year & 7 children cycle of my life I prayed, “What will it take to move forward?” MANA… not my own strength but that of every women who pulses within my DNA. My grandmothers who made it through WW2, The Great Depression, the overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani and it is their strength that I will rely on to make better choices.

This idea inspired me to create a program which combines my Zumba® classes with Plate by Zumba and mix in some incentives. The motivational energy is MANA Wahine Fitness. It starts with the female but will flow into the family, tribe, community and anyone who believes in wellness. Health can sustain a movement and awareness will become the catalyst of a nation. You can quote me on that!

Get ready to dig deep & stay consistent. The only thing you’ll loose is calories (wink, wink) Everyone can participate…
🗻 Gym workout: Make a plan.
🗻 Mobile workout: Grab the fitness apps resource page here.
🗻 Food Ideas: Whole food recipe and ideas here.

Month 1 Honeymoon month where everything is new and exciting. Plan, join, create and start your workouts along with meal prep.

Month 2 Midlife Crisis month when life gets in the way and it feels harder and harder to stick to your schedule. Don’t give up. This is a great time to collage a vision board with pictures of your future self.

Month 3 What Now month, you might notice that the old schedule isn’t working like it use to. No worries this happens to all of us. This is when you switch-up your workout for something that’s a little more demanding. You can do it.

Month 4 Back to Month 1 except you’re taking it to the next level adding weights, reps or a more advanced PT. Then move through each month always increasing or changing your workout routine. You don’t want your muscles to become complacent.

What is MANA Wahine?

MANA Wahine

MANA: Polynesian word for a type of strength that is generational and never ending.

Wahine: Hawaiian word for woman.

We wanted to create a fitness program for our members that would connect them to the beauty and strength of being a 21st century woman. This blog will be a place to share fitness, food and features. (Features: inspirational & motivational images.) It is our hope that you will visit often and share the MANA Wahine experience with others.
